The Muse & the Marketplace Sessions

I’m happy to share that I’ll be presenting two sessions (they can be found under my name) at this year’s The Muse & the Marketplace conference in Boston! The sessions are filling up quickly, so please share with those who might be interested.

Registration is now open for the conference, which will bring together an amazing group of writers, agents, and editors.

I’m looking forward to being a part of it with the wonderful folks at GrubStreet and meeting new people who love writing, literature, and the publishing world as much as I do.

Brown University Visit

It still seems a bit unreal, but it is actually happening: I’m doing a public reading at Brown University on March 1st and meeting with faculty and students in Latina/o Studies. Also, my story “Marching Men, originally published in Prairie Schooner, is being taught at the university. I will have the opportunity to co-teach a class in which the story will be discussed.

I’m immensely grateful for this opportunity, and I can’t wait to meet the wonderful professors and students in Latina/o Studies at the university!

The date of my one-day class on how to put together and promote a successful story collection is nearing! I’m including the details of how the Cape Cod Writer’s Retreat works, as well as a link to the class itself.

Come spend a weekend at a historic Inn discussing fiction writing and story collections!

“Our 2015-2016 Writing Classes feature a variety of authors from many different writing genres.  You’ll have a chance to meet the author at a wine and cheese reception on Friday night and classes are held Saturdays from

When taking a class, we invite you to stay at the Inn in one of our beautiful writing rooms.  Stay the weekend or stay a week.  All class attendees get a 10% off room rates, and of course you are welcome to share a room with a friend.  When you stay six days or more, you class is free.  Please call the Inn at 508-255-1886 to book your class and room reservation.”
